Why we're building Duckling
Duckling exists because tracking a baby's day currently takes four apps — one for sleep timers, one for first foods, one for milestones, one for words — and none of them work when it matters most: one-handed, in the dark, at 3am.
All of them are tap-first and form-heavy, built as if logging were the parent's hobby instead of the thing standing between them and going back to bed. And almost none of them treat the second parent — let alone a grandparent or nanny — as a first-class user.
We think the whole thing should work the way you already talk: "she's down for her nap." Said out loud, understood properly, checked with you, filed to the right kid, visible instantly to everyone who cares for her. That's the product, and everything else follows from it.
Duckling is small and independent, built hand-in-hand with founding families. We'd rather earn your family's trust slowly than monetize it quickly.
What we believe
Logging is a chore. Treat it like one.
Every feature is measured in seconds and taps. If it doesn't make the chore smaller, it doesn't ship.
Care is a team sport.
Parents, partners, grandparents, nannies — the app should serve the whole team and respect exactly what each person should see. Nothing more, nothing less.
AI you can check.
Duckling shows you what it understood, asks when unsure, and keeps undo one tap away. Trust is built from receipts, not promises.
We are not your pediatrician.
Duckling records and displays. It doesn't diagnose, predict, or advise — and we think a tracking app that pretends to is being careless with your trust.
Your family is not the product.
We don't sell identifiable family data. Export is always free. Deletion follows a published clock. The privacy policy is written to be read.
